What is a cookie?
A cookie is a file stored on your computer which contains information about your visit to a website.
The cookies in use on directfood.net simply allow us to keep track of your order details,
and your company details whilst you are using the site. They are stored on your computer and cannot be seen by anybody else
Our cookies have run on a 'session' basis. Your session automatically expires either when you leave the site, or after 20 minutes of inactivity. At this point the cookie is permanently deleted
Are cookies safe? What information are cookies storing?
Cookies are only stored in a designated 'cookie file' set by your computer and your browser.
The information that they store is information passed from one page to another while on a website.
It is not possible for a cookie to gather information from elsewhere on your computer, nor will cookies be stored elsewhere on your disk.
The only site that can view a particular cookie entry, is the site that created it.
Our cookie sessions expire after 20 minutes of inactivity, or after closing your browser. After this time, all stored information is deleted.
How do i enable cookies?

It was tested with Internet Explorer 4 and newer, and Netscape 6 and newer.

Netscape Users:
Start Netscape Navigator,
Click the 'Edit' menu, and select 'Preferences', as shown below.

You should now see an options screen, like the one below.
On the left hand side, click on 'Privacy & Security',
then select 'Cookies' as shown.

In the pane on the right hand side, select 'Enable all cookies',
and the click 'OK'. You may have to restart Netscape before the changes take effect.
Internet Explorer Users:
Start Microsoft Internet Explorer,
Click the 'Tools' menu, and select 'Internet Options...', as shown below.

You should now see an settings screen, like the one below.
On the tabs along the top, select 'Privacy',

Move the slider down to the bottom until 'Accept All Cookies' is shown,
Click 'Apply' and then click 'OK' to confirm.
You may have to restart Internet Explorer before the changes take effect.
On previous versions of Internet Explorer (Version 5 and Before) the slider may not read 'Accept All Cookies',
it may instead read 'Low' or 'Cookies Off', but you will still want the setting at the very bottom of the slider
to enhance your internet browsing experience.
Other Browsers
If you are using a browser other than Internet Explorer or Netscape, try searching for 'cookies' in its help system for more information.
